The Tweed Run-NYC

New York City on October 15th 2011 had the first Tweed Run, organized by Ralph Lauren’s Rugby offshoot. The event held in the West Village was a hit. With live music, tea and biscuits (cookies as we call in America) and grooming for the gentlemen by Murdock Barbers. If you are a tweed fan like I am, you will enjoy this.

Bill Cunningham was there too

Bill Cunningham

Bill Cunningham is an icon. At age 82 he is going strong photographing “clothes” on the streets of Manhattan. For decades New York Times photographer has his photo columns; “On the street” and “Evening Hours”.

Bill has extensively photographed “clothes” in Paris too. Long before the Runway shows of Fashion Houses, he was photographing the Haute Couture shows in Paris.  In 2008 he was awarded Officier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres by French Ministry of Culture.

Vogue editor in chief, Anna Wintour has said about him, “We all get dressed for Bill Cunningham”. About his photography he says, “ I am not interested in celebrities with their free dresses. I am interested in clothes”.

In 2010 New York times had a documentary on Bill, “ Bill Cunningham New York”, if you have not seen it please do.

Absence

I have been absent from the blog world lately. Human life is full of imperfections, I have been trying to smooth out some of those bumps out of my perfectly imperfect life.

During this period I finished and delivered Richard’s Ford Fairlane painting. Here is a glimpse of the final product.
