"This isn't all a dream about something, but a place where I can get back to nature. The great difficulty with the American people today is that they are getting too far away from the fundamental things in life. Too much time and money are spent on things which leave no record and which add nothing basically to the present nor to the future. To build permanently and wisely is to benefit all mankind. The conservation of wildlife now will mean much to future generations."
Ranch consists of a lodge, museum of Western and Native American art/artifacts and of course a wildlife refuge for native and exotic animals.
Recently we attended our friend's, wedding at the lodge. Bride and groom had their first date at Woolaroc and love nature and Western lifestyle, therefore they wanted the wedding right there at the lodge. A small gathering of family and friends as well as the bride and the groom had a great time.
(Sadly I forgot my camera, had to use my phone instead.) Here are a few pictures of the ranch and the ceremony, please enjoy!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place for a wedding. And, how lovely that the Lodge has such a special significance for the bride and groom. You must have all had a splendid time there.
We love the taxidermied animals and could just imagine one or two dotted around our Budapest apartment! They would certainly make talking points.
The words of the Founder are just as appropriate today as ever they were. Back to basics is where we shall all be happiest, of that we have no doubt.
We wish every joy and happiness to the newly married couple!
Thanks for your wishes for the newly weds. The good part of the taxidermies; none were hunted, they all died of natural causes. I wish I could get one for you :) from now on will keep an eye.
DeleteYou are so right the basics are all we need, all the frills are just add ons.
Best wishes.
What a beautiful setting and impressive collection. And it looks like you all had the perfect day for the wedding. Cheers
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect day, you got it right, not a cloud in the sky, upper seventies and nice breeze.
DeleteBest wishes.
Interesting place and great pictures! But what's the story behind the swastikas? An old native-american symbol?
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike. Swastika was hijacked by nazis, otherwise it is a symbol of "well being" as per Sanskrit. It also symbolizes life, perhaps here it has been used for that purpose :) no evil meaning.
DeleteBest wishes.
