They started their five year long trip last summer in Los Angeles, California where their car that has been fully restored and prepared for this mission arrived in a container from New Zealand aboard a ship. They have seen more United States than most Americans will ever see. After visiting Canada this year they will comeback south and head towards South America, from there the car will be shipped to Europe for the rest of the adventure. They plan to arrive back home in the year 2019.

We had the honor of being their hosts here in Oklahoma, and benefited from a presentation they gave about their adventure. Interestingly they enjoyed their stay here and were surprised to find Oklahoma not as wild as folks around the country think. Elisabeth and Fred are in Florida these days and enjoying the nice balmy weather before heading up north.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteWe had not heard of this and are so intrigued.
The car is, if course, magnificent. Just to sit in it would be fabulous. But, Elizabeth and Fred are very intrepid to take this magnificent piece of engineering on such an adventurous trip.
What stories they will have to tell on the way and on their return. We admire their spirit and wish them safe travelling!
They truly have some very interesting stories and will have more by every passing day and every mile traveled.
DeleteNo faint of heart can do what they are doing, and so far it has been all good, our best wishes to them.
What an adventure and what interesting friends. They are making so many fascinating memories from this trip. I hope you will continue to give us updates!

ReplyDeleteThey absolutely are fascinating people.
DeleteWhat you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
ReplyDeleteIntresting, and oh boy, what a car!!
