My absence!

Sorry I have not posted anything in the past few weeks, just busy with the routine of life? Here is the summary of my life during past weeks: Had a very busy holiday period with multiple parties that we hosted at our home. My daughter graduated from college in December a semester early, next day of Christmas one of our car got hit (while parked) by a distracted driver, dealing with the insurance turned out to be an ordeal. The car has yet not been fixed, will be at the body shop next week for any number of days. Designed, printed and framed a dozen certificates to honor long term members of our club. Baked extensively, trying to perfect my breads and "Macron", etc. And currently trying to recover from severe case of "Avocado" allergy. (Yes there is such an allergy and very painful one). As per my Doctor now I am officially allergic to all tropical fruits, shell fish, nuts and some other stuff. He thinks it is just a matter of time when I will be allergic to myself :)

I don't have any new year's resolution, because the time is going so fast there is no time to fulfill any resolution. However I will be trying to post more often.... (But I have been regularly reading all your posts on your blogs). Have some new followers of Paisley Curtain during this time, a warm welcome to them.

Best wishes.

    1. Thanks a lot. I usually am very careful when I eat out, but this day did not know there was avocado sauce in it, just had two bites and my daughter said to me "don't eat this". but two bites were more than enough :)

  3. Congrats to you daughter! I have to wait at least 20 years for that moment, I guess.

Allergies? Too bad! I'm sorry for you. But you can learn to deal with it.

What about that club of yours? Any chance a German guy could join in? :-)

    Best,
    Mike

    1. Thank you! These 20 years will go very fast it will be a blink of an eye and your daughter will be graduating :)
Sure you can join our club, it is very German; I am on the Board of Directors and Secretary of Mercedes-Benz Club of America :) for our state. My family and I are a big fans of German cars and I am a hardcore Mercedes fan. Thanks to Germans for inventing automobile and for making such great cars.

    2. I saw that I've missed an "r" in "your daughter". Writing English with German iPhone auto-correction can be embarassing sometimes...

I've just checked your club's superb website. Well that's a great hobby if you want my opinion. And I really do understand your fascination for German car engineering.

You've planned trips to Stuttgart. That's truly amazing! Hope you'll join.

      But I guess I can't be a member as I drive a Mazda CX-7 :-)

      All the best,
      Mike

    3. As a matter of fact you can be a member without owning a Mercedes, we have some members without MBs. I love the old Mercedes more than the new ones. My 1976 SL is solid as a rock compared to my daily driver :)
As a matter of fact each year my wife and I plan to visit Stuttgart but it fizzles out for some reason. This year we may do a trip in July, our Club along with Daimler organize it each year, let's see if it really happens for us.

  4. Thank you for the nice offer. But it would be too difficult to participate in your great meetings and events for obvious reasons.

If your trip to Stuttgart will be your first visit to Germany, make sure to spend maybe a week here, visiting even Düsseldorf? You'll love it here: Everybody knows how to drive stick and you can drive as fast as you want on most parts of the Autobahn. But you know this, I suppose :-)
