Yesterday paint crew came and finally stained the fence. Some cleaning was done and another crew filled in the back side with top soil and the bed with potting soil. Storm damage claim has not been settled with the insurance, the tree and other debris can not be removed till the time. Fallen tree will kill most of the grass under it by the time all is said and done, will have to re-sod the east side of the yard.
The oven structure got some aging overnight, thanks to some faux finishing, mother nature will do the rest. It is raining and it is very wet today, no work.

Hello:
ReplyDeleteFirst, we beg of you, do please tell us are the pots of what we take to be hydrangeas [and we have enlarged all of the images] yours and in your garden? If so, or no matter where they are, they are truly inspirational - so very purposeful, so very stylish, and so very, very pretty.
Your outdoor stove looks as is it has come directly from a mediaeval castle and is most handsome. We should not, however, have the first clue what to do with it but would doubtless enjoy what it will produce in the way of food.
Greetings! yes you are right, these are Hydrangeas, but the pictures is not of my garden. We do plan to use pots like this in the garden.
DeleteThis is a wood burning pizza oven, you can bake anything not just pizza. However pizza is baked in the oven at the highest temperature i.e. 700F. We have started with the seven fires :) that you need to do to season it before anything can be backed. Now it has been so wet that will start all over again once weather gets better.
The hydrangeas in pots along the dirt drive belong to the eternally stylish Mr. Furlow Gatewood, pictured at his home outside Savannah, Georgia.
DeleteWhat a wonderful gardens Mr. Gatewood has. Thanks for letting us know.

Hello [again]:
ReplyDeleteWe have just gone back to your previous post which we are so sorry that we missed. We see you posted on one of the days when our time, very happily, was taken up with our Dutch friends.
Such major undertakings in the garden but, we can see, the end result will give you a great deal of pleasure for many years to come. Sometimes a forced, as in the case of the storm damage, alteration can, as here, work out for the best.
Jane and Lance no need to be sorry for missing the previous post. It is good to take some time out of the blog world to enjoy friends. I am glad you had a good time and the wonderful gifts your friends from Holland brought are really so thoughtful. I hope you are enjoying hot chocolate in the beautiful tea cups :)
DeleteWell we hope that the end result on the garden project will be worth the wait and money. Will keep posted as it progresses.
Best wishes
