The title and inspiration for this poem came from a line in Paul Dunbar's poem "Sympathy"
A beautiful poem by Dr. Maya Angelou who is a great human being and a great scholar.
I Hope I will be able to go back to normal routine by next week. Have a nice weekend.
Hello: In the unlikely event of our being made Secretary of State for Education, a post we should hold jointly(!!), then we should make Maya Angelou's autobiographical work, 'I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings', compulsory reading for all secondary age pupils. And not a few adults too!
I hope it becomes a likely event and you do this great deed. Ms. Angelou is an asset to the world of literature, but in our great US of A most of the people take her just an old black poet :-( I just cry when I read her words or listen to her talks
